We offer complete end to end design, build, consolidate, and move services for your data centres. We have successfully moved 30 data centres across 3 continents. Our projects will meet your timeline and budgets. Our portfolio includes private sector to public sector (including classified) data centres.

Our fastest delivery of a complete design, build, consolidate, and move project was 11 months. The build phase included demolition of existing office space. In an effort to advance the project, we initiated the consolidation effort and based on our experience, estimated the size of IT cabinets required for the final solution. The relocation and final demolition of the existing data centre was executed quickly and smoothly.

-Design

Power, cooling, fire detection and suppression, flooring, cabling, layout, rack and stack: we do it all. Over the past years, we have designed our own in-house tools to simplify the effort of the design effort. We work with you the entire way to ensure your facility meets your needs.

Design begins with requirement and constraints gathering. We take the time to understand all of your business needs: environmental, floor space, operating budgets, long term plans, operational process and procedures, and several more! Through various iterations we arrive at your custom design with the use of 3D CAD and computational fluid dynamics [CFD]. The design process commonly includes cost estimates and a construction project plan. Your design will end up as ready for tender or ready for construction.

-Build

We have played many roles for the build phase from acting as the general contractor for the construction to liaising with the construction team for our clients. We ensure your design comes to life as you imagined.

The build phase is also one where we refine the operational process and procedures for operations of your data centre. These not only cover your common ITIL related processes but also the process and procedures to ensure you maintain other critical data centre certifications.

-Consolidate

Use your own staff to perform consolidations and let us manage your consolidation plans. Save money by consolidating not only your IT systems but your data centres too! Our team shares the skills to manage the consolidation of your IT systems across your data centres. With our decades of experience in IT infrastructure and systems management, we have been able to deliver on complex consolidations. From storage, database, unified communications, security, to global data centre consolidations, we have managed it all.

Using concepts such as system diversity based on user locations versus multi-site redundancy, we can find a solution to keep your systems online and available during almost any type of disaster.

-Move

Migrating or relocating, we handle the move of your data centre. We have the experience to migrate your systems from one site to another over dark fibre or other site-to-site connected means. Whether it is migrating LUNs on your hundreds of terabyte storage arrays or instances of systems onto a remote virtual server, we have managed it.

Relocations require a lot more planning due to the logistics [example: loading dock, trucks, schedule, audit, tracking, + more], security [example: armed escorts, classification, municipal police, RCMP, military police, + more], and resources [detail inventory, shutdown, un-rack, pack, loading, un-loading, un-pack, re-rack, patching, + more]. Although relocations are generally shorter down-times compared to migrations, they have a much longer planning period. In cases where organizations are not willing to incur down-time during a relocation, a two or more site model should already be in place.

In either case, we break the move into move windows. Each move window consists of one or more move events. Finally, move events contain one or more move groups. The choreography of the move is planned according to the move methodology (examples: leap-frog, lift and shift, workload shift).
